Northleach Court Residents Have Been Busy Gardening
Residents at Northleach Court have been busy planting some bright and beautiful flowers in the newly refurbished community courtyard.
Staff have been working hard to increase the safety and accessibility of our courtyard so that residents can get outside and enjoy the sunshine in our beautiful gardens. We decided to get our residents involved with a number of gardening activities that would benefit their wellbeing, whilst practising fine motor skills and stimulating the senses.
Gardening can be a fun way of getting residents outdoors and is a great opportunity for those with dementia to interact with other residents and participate in a group project. Many of our residents enjoy gardening on a regular basis and find it to be a therapeutic and nostalgic activity.
The garden is now flourishing under the watchful eye of Sally and Theresa. The exterior of the home is looking much brighter and our residents are enjoying sitting outside in the courtyard.
We welcome anybody that is visiting to have a wander around the gardens and enjoy the sunshine with your relatives.
