We have connected with the residents of Cholwell House in Bristol to become pen pals with them. We have enjoyed reading their letters and responding to their questions. We spoke about our jobs, hobbies and passions. We are so looking forward to their next letters!

I know that fred used to like doing puzzles so do I and also his elder sister

Uncle Fred has always enjoyed doing puzzles.

Joan always enjoyed Jigsaws but has found them more difficult in recent years. These look great!

Our gentlmens club enjoyed gathering this week and reminiscing about the 1950’s. We enjoyed a few 0% beers as we discussed how different life was then compared to now.
We looked at a few old booklets such as a rations booklet, a radio rentals booklet, and a recipe book amongst other things. We also enjoyed guessing the 50’s stars from a photo which the gents were very good at!

As it is getting darker outside, we have brought a little lasting brightness inside. We made beautiful compositions out of different coloured carnations and roses, our residents love seeing them on the dining tables and throughout our home.

Good work everyone they look really cheerful.

Well done everyone can't beat nice bright flowers they look gorgeous

Yesterday was Remembrance Sunday and today is Armistice Day, we observed the 2 minutes silence for those no longer with us. We also decorated our own flanders poppies and displayed them in our home. We spoke to our residents and heard many stories about parents, friends, siblings and others they knew, about the sacrifices they made.

“They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old: Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn. At the going down of the sun and in the morning, We will remember them” - Laurence Binyan
