We have made substantial investments in high-quality advanced technology, implementing various systems and services throughout our homes. These advancements, collectively referred to as “Technology in Care Homes,” include:
Nourish
We have implemented Nourish, an incredibly advanced next-generation care management system, at Northleach Court. Our staff members have continuous access to Nourish via smartphones, enabling them to plan, record, report, and coordinate care on the go, 24 hours a day. This system offers numerous benefits to our residents, such as:
- Less time spent on paperwork, allowing more time for direct care
- Streamlined internal audits for improved operational efficiency
- Personalized care plans tailored to residents’ specific needs and preferences
- Real-time digital recording of care tasks, ensuring every requirement is fulfilled, including activities and social events
By leveraging this software, our staff members gain a comprehensive understanding of each resident, surpassing what paper records can provide. This enables us to deliver a more responsive and proactive care service.
At Northleach Court, integrating technology in our care home is a top priority. Through the Nourish software system, we have established a faster communication system. For instance, if a resident requests a snack, a caregiver can send a direct message to the kitchen. They will receive notifications confirming when the food is being prepared, ready for delivery, and when the resident receives it.
Nourish is also utilized by management at all levels, ensuring immediate notification if tasks are not completed on time. This enhances the quality of care and significantly saves management time.
MED e-care
In 2020, Northleach Court will implement MED e-care, an advanced computer system for managing and monitoring medication ordering and administration. Supported by our dispensing pharmacy, this well-established software simplifies the process of ordering medications for our residents, reducing human error.
MED e-care significantly enhances medication safety and administration by providing accurate and detailed information to healthcare professionals, nurses, the pharmacy, and our care home staff. The system records each medication individually, issuing alerts if medications are administered outside recommended time slots or missed altogether. By investing in software like MED e-care, we prioritize the health and wellbeing of our residents, ensuring they receive the best and safest care possible.
Sensors
To improve resident safety, we employ various non-invasive sensors tailored to individual needs and always with full consent from residents or their Power of Attorney. These sensors include pressure mats near beds, under chairs, or in doorways, alerting staff when residents attempt to get out of bed or rise from a chair.
The sensor technology in our care home enables our staff to assist residents who require help or have limited mobility. We continuously explore additional safety measures to detect and prevent incidents like falls, prioritizing the safety of all residents in our care.
Free Wi-Fi
In all our homes, we now offer free high-quality Wi-Fi, available in communal areas and residents’ bedrooms. This allows our residents full internet access, enabling them to make video and voice calls to friends and family whenever they desire. With free Wi-Fi, our residents and their families can stay connected at all times.
